Working With the Mussels [2023] 26:43

The number 1 species that have gone extinct since the 1950s are mussels. The shy mussel has an important role in keeping the waters clean and preparing nutrients for others. In this film, I analyze how a small group of rewilding specialists are trying to save freshwater pearl mussels, an endangered species in Estonia. It portrays the different ways how experts are taking care and nurturing the mollusk whilst it grasps for survival amidst the 6th mass extinction.

How to encourage women to cycle who have never cycled before? Moreover, how do they perceive cycling whilst having never cycled? An organization that teaches biking is returning the feeling of empowerment back to women and giving them the ability to move freely in the city of Vienna.

Papa is 93 years old and has been living alone for the past 5 years. Life is different compared to the past: his joints are stiff, body covered up with crumpled up skin, and everything takes longer time and bigger effort. Every weekend he is being visited by his children and grandchildren to offer some company, check up on him and help Papa with everyday tasks. It is hard to live in an old body and it is hard to see a body becoming old. Especially if it is someone close to you.

Street art can be a message by invisible people written visibly onto walls, posts, ground, doors, etc. What makes it extra fascinating is that this art gives voice to the voiceless, to the people of the city, to make their opinion public whilst remaining anonymous: in this way one might be able to voice their political, social or personal feelings, beliefs, thoughts and understandings; to show resistance, power and/or agency. Discovering the city landscape through invisible people.
